Abstract

The article looks at the ongoing problem of the theory-practice relationship from the perspective of the Culture of Digitality. For this purpose, Chapter 1 addresses the relationship between theory and practice in digitization-related courses. Chapter 2 gives a brief summary of the discussion of the relationship between theory and practice. Chapter 3 deals with the specific characteristics of the culture of digitality: Referentiality, Communiality and Algorithmicity and their connection to the theory-practice relationship. Based on the discussions on the culture of digitality, the cross-phase cooperation is then considered. The thesis is put forward that the characteristics of the culture of digitality discussed can be used to update cross-phase cooperation. In addition to an updated form of collaboration, this also requires a modified understanding of theory and practice under the conditions of digitality. The thesis is explained in Chapter 4 with the help of a model and then related to the problem presented in Chapter 1. The article ends with a plea for a cautiously optimistic view of the possibilities of digitality.
