Abstract

Regarding the focus on the body in physical education, teachers re-quire a gender-sensitive approach towards their students. However, despite the growing demand for promoting gender competence in teacher training, there are few published concepts addressing this issue for sports. Considering this desideratum, the present article proposes a seminar concept addressing the training of physical education teachers at Bielefeld University. The educational concept consists of three interconnected sessions of the seminar “Dealing with Heterogeneity”, which are subsequently described and reflected upon regarding the teaching objectives to be achieved. It was shown that the teaching concept is particularly suitable for conveying gender-related knowledge in the context of sports and physical education.
