Abstract

Due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the options for teaching practice for students underwent considerable change. In Austria teaching internships was predominantly carried out in distance mode. The article presents the results of an exploratory study questioning 213 Austrian student teachers concerning formats of practical training during the Covid-19 pandemic, their learning experiences as well as options for learning they missed in these settings. Results indicate that especially formats that were carried out synchronous were better opportunities for learning from the students’ point of view whereas asynchronous formats were by trend rated adversely.
