Abstract

The article describes the relevance of teacher training for the professionality/expertise of teachers and summarizes research results. The focus of the article is on the results of an interview study with teachers, to explain the current situation and practice of teacher training from the perspective of teachers. The following questions are taken up: How do teachers assess the framework conditions of external teacher training? From the point of view of teachers, what are aspects of good or poor training? What do teachers want in terms of planning, designing and implementing training? After discussing the findings, the article ends with a conclusion.
